In memoriam. The sudden passing at age 37 of Daniel Bristot de Oliveira, former doctoral student in computer science and affiliate of the Retis (Real Time Systems) Laboratory at Sant'Anna School's TeCIP Institute: "'Beautiful mind' who leaves us too soon"

The TeCIP (Technologies of Communication, Information, Photonics) Institute of the Sant'Anna School shares the family's grief over the sudden death, at age 37, of Daniel Bristot De Oliveira, a former doctoral student in Computer Science and affiliate of the Retis (Real Time Systems) Laboratory of the same Institute. At the TeCIP Institute, the person of Daniel Bristot De Oliveira is remembered with emotion and affection. "A positive and smiling person, full of joy and always ready to support others. He was a very talented computer scientist with an in-depth knowledge of the Linux kernel and a hard worker, a 'beautiful mind' who leaves us too soon and will be missed": this is how those who shared many moments with him in the Lab describe him.

Daniel Bristot de Oliveira, born in Brazil, received a joint PhD from Sant'Anna School and Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Brazil) in 2020, was living in Pisa, Italy, and currently held a senior position at RedHat, a multinational IT company. In recent years, Daniel Bristot Oliveira has been one of the organizers of numerous scientific events of the community of developers and researchers working on the Linux kernel, published scientific papers ,and led contributions to high-level conferences .
